Wednesday it's sunny and 62 degrees outside and Thursday we are covered in freezing rain and sleet with snow on the way tomorrow and continued below freezing temperatures!?!?! I am so confused and poor Dalton is confused...he thought it was going to be Christmas because the only real time he remembers it snowing, etc. was Christmas Eve. He asked if Santa was going to bring him his 4-wheeler now that he forgot! Uhm...NO your birthday is less than a month away nobody is bringing you anything!
Wednesday we played and played outside since we knew the crazy weather was on the way! Dalton rode his Harley and mommy tried to jog along side because he goes to fast for me to walk and keep up! We headed to the entrance of the neighborhood where there is MAJOR road construction is going on and got to speak to a surveyor guy and see a bulldozer upclose pushing dirt! Pretty cool stuff for the little guy! We played in the sand, the mud, played chase around the backyard, flew a kite (Dalton did a great job flying the kite on his own) and of course mommy got to push Dalton high on the swing and watched him zoom down the slide! And then uncle Kevin, cousin Melanie and Grandma Beverly brought us lunch and then we played a little more inside!
Have I mentioned that the ball pit has made a return...
Still loving the sand box!
On Thursday morning we woke up to school closings just as predicted the night before and then the precipitation starts! Luckily Daddy was able to work from home and didn't have to get out in the yucky weather! And then the juggling act of keeping Dalton entertained indoors began...movies, crafts, cars, puzzles, snacks, etc.
Dalton decided that his friends needed to be a LITTLE BIT closer to the TV...and yes he still loves Toy Story 2!
One of our new favorite crafts...elmers glue! This was a bean and pasta glue project!
We have a great neighbor who likes to help keep Dalton entertained...she likes the glue too! We also painted with her and watched some more TV and had some yummy snacks like popcorn and ice cream sandwiches...what else are we to do when the weather is SO CRAZY outside!
Mommy's grand idea...putting all of those broken crayons to good use! In case anyone is interested its 275 degrees for 7-9 minutes and then let the cool!
The finished crayon project!
Our iced over window early on in the day!
The back pation later in the afternoon!
The sleet was covering all the hard surfaces!
Who knows what tomorrow will bring...
