BUSY BUSY BUSY!

WEEK IN PICTURES!

Dalton & Maddy way to busy to stop and pose for a picture during their play date!

He was HUGE!

This was a calm gorilla...we had one that was running back and forth in front of the glass that eventually pulled up a big patch of grass and threw it at the glass right where we were...we took this as a sign that he was not in the mood for visitors!

Dalton waiting patiently for the parade to start...notice the lone goldfish cracker on his tray! Mommy's can always count on goldfish cracker to help pass the time:)

Dalton rode in his stroller most of the laps but he did walk about half a lap...he will do just about anything that his cousins are doing!

THE REST OF THE STORY!

Well, on Sunday Dalton had his first visit to a pet store...they had dog and cat adoptions plus the usual birds, fish, guinea pigs (Dalton's favorite), lizards, hamsters, etc. Luckily we made it out with only a fun Halloween toy for my parent's Chinese pug...one day Dalton will have a pet but for now Grandma and Pa's dog keeps him busy enough!

Monday started off way FUN with a play date & lunch with Dalton's friend Maddy and her mommy! Then we headed home so Dalton could take his nap and mommy could get some stuff done around the house...well we ended up at the ER instead. Note to self...not all child proof lids are Dalton proof! I found Dalton in his room with the lid off of the Children's Benadryl bottle...not knowing if he had none, some or a ton...I called poison control and after a short conversation with them we were advised to head to the ER. And there we stayed for several hours for observation and a nice drink of yucky black stuff (mixed with cranberry juice that Dalton drank like it was they yummiest drink he ever had) to absorb any benadryl that might have gotten into his system. Luckily it looks like he had none because he showed no other signs of drinking the benadryl other than holding the bottle with the lid off and a BIG SMILE on his face when I found him. Daddy met us at the ER and helped entertain Dalton for the last hour or so...but mostly Dalton was entertaining the nurses...quite a charmer once the shy guy in him gets comfy in his surroundings! Mommy is just glad that Dalton was okay:) Note to self...a bottle of benadryl is not a toy...no matter how much fun it is to shake it!

Wednesday we took a trip to the zoo with Mommy, Daddy and Dalton! The weather was perfect and we got to see a lot of monkeys (gorillas, orangutans, chimps) and the lion cubs! We had nutritious McDonald's for lunch and then in the afternoon we headed to a small parade that one of Dalton's aunts and cousins were in for school...not quite as festive as the 4th of July parade but it was fun to see them and Dalton was able to see a lot of cars including a trolley, city bus and train all before the parade even started!

Thursday we had Dalton's friend Maddy over to play and eat lunch while her mommy went to a doctor appt. Maddy is getting ready to have a baby brother...Luke anyday now! All went well...especially when Dalton's Grandma showed up to help with the kidos...Dalton still has a hard time sharing his toys...like most kidos his age:) This too shall pass right?!?!? Or must we have two of everything?!?!?

Friday was SUPER BUSY...we are SO GLAD that Dalton's cousins live so close and we get to share in SO MANY of their FUN ACTIVITIES. Today they had a walk-a-thon at their school to raise money for their school...$20,000 and counting! Mommy and Dalton tagged along with the cousins and Grandma, Pa and his Aunt were there too! One of those cousins also had a slumber party that night that I helped supervise...mommy's first night away from Dalton. Daddy did a great job taking care of Dalton and even took him to the library on Saturday morning where they looked around, played on the swings and ran a few errands!

Saturday was pretty uneventful compared to the rest of the week so...I guess we will call it good and hope that next week is a little less CRAZY!

THESE ARE A FEW OF HIS FAVORITE THINGS!

Since I mentioned how much Dalton loves water in my last post...I thought I would let you know a few more of his favorite things!

He LOVES to say "mama" over and over again...and he just waits for me to say "Yes, Dalton"!

He LOVES to watch the trash truck on Fridays. And luckily we have a nice guy who drives the truck who waves hello and doesn't mind all of the staring from the window or the driveway.

He LOVES ELMO and all the singing and dancing that goes along with it...if I ever figure out how to post video I will share that with you...mommy and daddy get quite a kick out of his routine!

He LOVES being outside (rain or shine) and when he is not playing in the water he likes to swing!

He LOVES choo choo trains...toy trains, Thomas the Train and of course real trains...every time he sees the railroad crossing signs when we are driving he either says train or choo choo!

He LOVES the zoo...okay really mommy loves the zoo! Dalton prefers the statue of the gorilla compared to the real thing. But he does like to go and he grows more interested with the animals each time we are there...which is quite often!

And YES he still LOVES cars!

First Visit to the Omniplex...LOTS OF FUN!

Yesterday Dalton and I met some friends at the Omniplex... who knew it would be so much fun for kids under 2! Dalton had a blast running around from the train table, to the puppet show and then he spotted the HUGE water table! Nothing could compare...that boy is in love with water... bath water, water hose, puddles of water, etc. but he isn't really excited about pool water...yet! Once we escaped the water table we saw planes, trains and a huge tree house and Dalton liked climbing up the stairs on the tree house! I think there is an Omniplex season pass in our future!

ALL DAY EVERY DAY!

This blog is for all of our friends & family who just like his mommy & daddy...we can't get enough of Dalton! We hope to share with you some of the stuff that makes us laugh, stuff that makes us cry and the stuff that makes us want to pull our hair out! We had hoped to start this blog about...18 months ago but someone has been busy pouring milk into sippy cups, changing diapers, picking up toys, blowing bubbles, washing clothes, etc. So I hope to catch you up one day but for now we start today when Dalton is almost 19 months old!
