christmas break is over...

Christmas break is over for Dalton...he heads back to MDO tomorrow!  Despite the extremely cold temperatures we have stayed pretty busy...so I decided to attempt to recall so of our adventures!  We visited with Dalton's Great Uncle Russell and Great Aunt Joy by bringing them lunch and of course Dalton getting an early Christmas present from them before the cold weather set in!  We had three playdates one with our friends Katie, Maddy and Luke and another with our neighbors who moved out of town earlier in the years Carrie, Carter and Graham and our last official playdate was with some friends of Dalton's Aunt Dawn!  We have been talking about getting together for quite sometime but had just not had a chance yet...one of Dalton's cousins is best friends with a little girl who has a brother the same age as Dalton!  His name is Owen and they played really well together and his mom is really sweet too...she is expecting another bouncing baby boy come early spring!  Dalton and mommy made cupcakes one morning and then brought them to our lunch date with Uncle Kevin, Aunt Joanna and their little girl (Grandma Beverly was there too)...and mommy got to show off her horrible Wii skills...apparently I am no rock star!  We rang in the New Year with Grandma Beverly like I posted earlier and had New Years Day Dinner at Dalton's Uncle Todd and Aunt Dawn's house!

Now for some pictures...

Mommy built a snowman for Dalton while he was napping and let him do the face...I assumed that he wouldn't have the patience to build a snowman even though that's all he had been talking about!  He discoverd the DVD Frosty the Snowman early on in the Christmas season and kept asking me if he was going to talk...mommy explained that unless we had a magic hat probably not!  I think he was a little disappointed...and mommy was right about the patience he didn't really even care about putting the face on!

BIG HUG FOR FROSTY!

Dalton stole the BIG SUCKER that santa left mommy in her stocking!  Luckily he only lasts a couple of licks before he wants to put it down...otherwise that would be some serious sugar:)

Now this on the other hand he will eat and ask for another and another!  Ice cream sandwiches are his FAVORITE...so much fun when you get to add your own sprinkles!

Do you want some for some reason he wanted to share?!?!?

Seemed like a good idea at the time!

Not such a good idea at this time!  UHM...no toddlers were seriously hurt during this stunt...but do not try at home:)

I don't want to try that again...great idea mom!

For those of you wondering...yes he still LOVES his John Deere tractor!  It got around quite a bit better in the snow than the Harley...surprise surprise!

GOOD PARENTING!
Unsupervised toddler laying on tabletop staring at the TV watching some crazy show called LAZY TOWN!

And yes there were days over the break when we were LAZY and stayed in our PJ's a little longer than usual but I don't think the normal guidelines for TV watching apply when it is so crazy cold outside...right?!?!?  And please note the pull up he's wearing...we are still trying the potty training with NO PRESSURE at this time!  At our playdate with his friend Maddy she got rewarded with M&M's and Dalton thought that was cool...we spent more time in Maddy's bathroom on this playdate than ever before!  We are now using mini M&M's for rewards...our little guy is growing up!  And speaking of growing up...he has gone a couple of days without naps...he said he doesn't want to grow so he wants to stay awake!

  1. What a brave mommy to go out and build that snowman! He is pretty stinkin' cute too :) And, what a good idea for sprinkles on the icecream sandwich--I'll have to give that a try!
