family lunch date

It has been a crazy week or so at our house and not a lot of together time for the three of us...so we decided to have a family lunch date today and headed to Arcadia, OK for lunch at the famous POPS!  Mommy has been there once before and this was daddy and Dalton's first time...who would have thought it would have been SOOOOO BUSY on a Thursday for lunch!  We sure didn't but we got there early enough and actually ate outside under their patio with fans and misters and it wasn't that bad...the inside was SOOOOOO crowded and overstimulating that lunch would have been a disaster!  We had cheeseburgers, fries and yummy onion rings and Dalton had a grilled cheese with fries and lemonade!  Mommy was all ready to go pick out our crazy soda pops to take home and no one but me wanted one...oh well!  So mommy got a vanilla creme to share with Dalton...he's not big on carbonated drinks...he says they tickle his tongue and I guess they do a little.  But he was very impressed with the large soda pop bottle and straw and was ready to climb to the top until mommy reminded him of the sign right in front of him that said no climbing...PlEaSe!  It's really sad that they have to tell people not to climb on this extremely tall soda pop bottle!  I didn't get the classic picture of your kid in front of the soda pop bottle because daddy was filling up the SUV with gas (it's a gas station too you know) and cars were flying in and out of the parking lot and I was being a helicopter parent and hovering over my child!

The gas pump...with the pops logo...it's official we were there!

We headed a little further down Route 66 and checked out...

The famous big red round barn...ooh ahh ooo!

Got a couple of cute pics of Dalton before we had a heat stroke and then headed home to the air conditioning!
He looks VERY TINY next to the BIG ROUND BARN...don't you think!?!

He looks a little grumpy too don't you think!?!?!?  But still cute of course!

Checking out some of the old farm equipment that was on display...he also took an interest in the out house that had been remodeled for display only.  I told him it was an out house and he misunderstood me or something and he kept calling it a pee pee house...and I guess you could call it that too!

We had grand plans to go home and put up our pop up tent and get the blow up pool out and mommy wasn't paying attention to how windy it was and didn't ask for the help that she needed and by the time that I did it was too late and the tent was about to lift mommy and daddy both off the ground!  So one rip in the canvas and one broken piece of metal we are without tent before the summer is over...so bummed there goes our 10x10 square of guaranteed shade!  Mommy will be heading to get a new one and hoping that they are on sale in the near future:)
