one more zoorific day before the 100 plus heat index returned...a couple of weeks ago

Grandma Beverly had not seen the "new" children's zoo yet so we me decided to take her and meet Dalton's uncle Kevin, Aunt Joanna and his baby cousin bright and early at the zoo 8:30am!  No biggie for us...remember Dalton rises between 6-7am...and these days closer to the 6am hour!  The weather was still hot but not unbearable...enjoy some more zoo pics!  We have not been back since...way too hot even at 8:30am...and that stinks because we LOVE THE ZOO...and it's kind of free because we have the zoo pass!

We had just walked in the zoo and saw this most beautiful creature...that is the first all white peacock this mommy had ever seen.  He just paraded around for us...it was almost comical!

It didn't even care that the mini street sweeper was headed right for him...of course Dalton lost all interest in the peacock once he saw the street sweeper!

When you get to the zoo at 8:30am you see lots of maintenance going on...cool stuff to a 3 year old boy!

Just a pretty pic...this animal according to the zoo tram guy (yes we go to the zoo WAY TOO MUCH) has the body of a horse, the head of a giraffe and the stripes of a zebra...you can't see the stripes because they are on their lower body...I always thought it was just an odd looking animal until I heard all that...pretty interesting stuff!

It's always funny to me when the giraffes bend over to eat and have to make their knees bow in because they are SO STINKING tall that they can't get to the ground otherwise!

Dalton belting out his best gorilla roar...thanks uncle Kevin for supervising while mommy took the picture...didn't want him slipping off!

The REAL DEAL...his head is massive and I don't want to think about the rest of his body...these animals amaze me and I could watch them forever!
