Pa served in the National Guard before he married Grandma...a few years ago! And daddy's daddy served in World War II...way before he married Grandma Wanda! WOW...thank you grandpa's for being so brave and we thank you for your service!
And this week Dalton's Pa had a couple of days off work...so he took Dalton and mommy up on our offer to take him to the 45th Infantry Museum here in OKC that we gave him for I believe Father's Day! Mommy thought that it would be a good bonding experience for both of them...boys, army tanks, bazookas, helicopters, ambulance, etc. I am not sure how appropriate this was for Dalton only being 3 and all but he had a good time anyway! Daddy had taken him a week or so ago when mommy got a little free time to go shopping with her birthday money! Yes...mommy had a birthday and we will blog about that at a later date! Today was supposed to be for Pa and Dalton but at the last minute Dalton was according to him "worried" about going without mommy! No biggie I like to spend time with Pa too so off we went...we picked pa up and look at what he had on!

| Dalton knew exactly where he was going...he wanted to show us the missile on the back of this truck! Pa was trying to tell him all about some of the other vehicles but Dalton had other plans...remember he was here just a week earlier with his daddy...the layout is fresh on his memory! |

| He wanted pa to find his patch...not sure that he ever did! And this picture was taken before I saw the MANY no flash photography signs posted everywhere...oops! There were lots of cool jeeps and ambulance a mess hall and Dalton had to show it all to us...and once again pa would try to show him some of the jeeps that he rode in and Dalton's attention span just wasn't quite cooperating. Pa was a good sport...he will have to go back another day and be his own tour guide...this one went a little too fast! |

| Back outside and he actually wanted his picture taken with pa! It was a beautiful day with a great break in the heat...it was about 83 degrees when we were there and it has been a good 10-15 degrees warmer than that over the past couple of weeks! |

After our museum adventure we headed to Freddy's Frozen Custard for yummy cheeseburgers or grilled cheese if your name is Dalton and of course fries and yummy custard if your name is Dalton! Then we dropped pa off at his house and played outside a little while in grandma Beverly and pa's backyard...good times!
I am sure as Dalton grows older he will have a greater appreciation for the military and his Grandpa Delaine and Grandpa Tom's time in the service and all of the others who have served our country so honorably! But until then he will just start preschool in a couple of weeks and tell them all about the bazookas, army tanks and missiles that he saw over the summer...fantastic!
