Happy Father's Day to Dalton's daddy...my hubby! We had a super busy weekend that included a visit from daddy's mom...Dalton's other Grandma who lives out in western Oklahoma! Grandma arrived on Friday morning and treated us to lunch...one of Grandma's favorite things to do is eat out when she comes to the city! They don't have very many restaurants where she lives so she likes to treat us and herself when she's here!
Dalton played outside for a little while after lunch and after his nap...we finished watching our pergola be put up and got one last look at the tractor before it got loaded up on the trailer. And then we ate dinner and daddy mowed & edged the lawn...which is a BIG EVENT at our house because Dalton just LOVES to watch Daddy mow and have his bubble mower out there with him! Daddy recently got Dalton a toy edger too...just what he needs!
On Saturday we got up pretty early and headed to the local Farmer's Market and got some FRESH fruit and veggies plus some YUMMY honey! It was already so hot outside we decided to head to Unpluggits to let Dalton run around in some air conditioning! He went down the slides, did some painting, played with play doh and just ran around showing off for Grandma! Later we headed home for lunch and a nap...I think we all napped on this day that heat wears you out! After dinner we headed to another one of Grandma's favorite spots in town Braum's for some ice cream...it just hit the spot in this HOT HOT weather. Dalton wanted an ice cream sandwich...he has had one only once before from the ice cream truck in my parents neighborhood...but he definitely knew what he wanted when we asked him. Of course we had to buy the whole box because they don't sell them individually! So now we have plenty of ice cream sandwiches to keep us cool on a HOT, SUNNY afternoon!
On Sunday daddy got to choose where he wanted to go and what he wanted to do! He chose to go back to our old church (we just love the preacher there...he's also the preacher who did our pre marital counseling and married us...so he's kind of special to us)! Burt's aunt and uncle also go to church there and we wanted to surprise them and we did! Dalton also did great...if you have read any of our previous posts about Dalton and church/Sunday school he's not really a fan! So it has been really hard for us to go as a family but when we were at our old church which is A LOT SMALLER he was completely at ease and wanted to go into the Sunday school room. I went in and stayed awhile and then said I was going to go check on daddy and he said okay and stayed the entire service NO PROBLEMS! We may be headed back to our old church if he continues to stay in Sunday school there! It was nice to spend a Sunday morning with my husband listening to a nice sermon...just like the good old days! On the way home from church daddy requested Wendy's for lunch so that's where we ate and then after lunch we opened presents! After naps we headed to my parents to have dinner and celebrate Father's Day! GOOD TIMES!
Daddy and Dalton's annual Father's Day picture...right after church!
Dalton helping daddy open up his cards, presents!
Mommy got Dalton's art work that he did for daddy for his birthday framed...daddy just had it taped up on his wall in his office! He also got a pair of shorts and another picture frame for his annual Dalton and Daddy picture. And we got a picture of Burt's families store matted and framed for him. Burt lost his father when he was in college and I wanted to help him to remember him and his store on Father's Day!

What a fun eventful weekend! I vote for the smaller church since Dalton loved it so much! Good for him and looks like Dr. Burt was quite spoiled on Father's Day...he is lucky to have you! Love ya!
