Those are the words from my Dalton's mouth as mommy is putting his PJ's on tonight! Totally out of the blue...just what he said...I love him SO much too! It was a perfect ending to a great weekend!
We kept Dalton's youngest cousin Friday morning and had tons of fun...we have a VERY LARGE box that now lives in our dining room and Thursday when the older cousins were visiting they named it the "cousins clubhouse" with overhead lighting and lots of decorating with markers! Well the littlest cousin had just as much fun as the older ones did in it as well as dressing up in the knight costume and jumping on the beds...oops I don't think I mentioned that one to her mommy when she picked her up! Hope that's okay...she has the best laugh and it was the loudest when they were jumping on the bed so we jumped! Friday night was also mommy and Dalton's slumber party...every once in a while we use our blow up mattress in Dalton's room and have a "slumber party" he thinks it's the coolest thing! This time he told me I should check with my husband to make sure it's okay if I stay the night...too funny! We read as many books as he wants, snuggle and lights out...he tosses and turns all night mommy gets very little sleep but it's all worth it to see the look on his face when he talks about it! Well, Saturday morning mommy had to get up extra early because his soccer game was early so he woke up when mommy was already in the shower and was SO VERY MUCH disappointed that mommy wasn't there when he woke up! It broke mommy's heart...daddy said he came in and said something like "I thought we were having a slumber party?" and daddy tried to explain and Dalton just said he was going to go lay back down...oops! SO when mommy got dried off from her shower she went and talked to him and he was SO SAD but he told me it was okay in his trying not to cry voice...wow I felt bad! My kind heart got the best of me and said I would do it again Saturday night...I temporarily lost my mind!
Saturday morning was Dalton's last fall soccer game and it was chilly (like 52 degrees....brr) and we have been spoiled because it has normally been in the 60's or 70's! So we layered up and headed out...since my last post about Dalton and his soccer adventures he has become more open to the soccer experience...we only missed one game and he played in all of the rest without tears or too much hesitation! I don't think that there was any bribery in at least the last three games to get him to play! And he has already said that he misses his coaches...they were really great to the kids...we even had a pizza/cookie party at CiCi's Pizza after the game and they got their medals too! Dalton insisted on wearing his to a birthday party later in the afternoon...and he wasn't the only one there sporting his medal...big day for YMCA soccer players all over the town apparently!

The birthday party was a HUGE hit...it was Iron Man themed and had a personal appearance from Iron Man himself a.k.a. the birthday boys daddy! But no one figured it out...it was WAY CUTE to see the look on that birthday boys face...the costume WAS NOT GOOD! The birthday mommy and daddy were the first to say it not me and they were totally cracked up about it but the kids thought it was way COOL! Dalton asked him about spider man but didn't want to have his picture taken with him! The other BIG excitement was a go-cart that belonged to the birthday boy's cousin they all got to take turns taking rides and they also had cake and ice cream and a pinata that was very popular too! We came home and mommy left again to get take out for dinner while daddy and Dalton had light saber battles...have I mentioned that daddy has introduced Star Wars, etc. to the lil guy! Mommy is not quite on board yet...we are agreeing to disagree on this one...I am sure it is not the worst thing but mommy wants him to stay little as long as he can. Mommy still loves to watch him sing and dance at the end of Backyardigans not sword fight with droids! And then of course slumber party #2...we both survived and mommy laid on my blow up mattress until I heard his voice say "it's time to get up mommy"!
| Iron Man...he had called the birthday boy the night before to get directions to his house! |
| Check out his cool ride...he wanted to drive...no buddy maybe next time when you are like 10! |
Sunday morning we headed to church and then lunch at our favorite Chinese restaurant after where we ran into two police officers one of which was a motorcycle police officer! They were both very nice to Dalton and gave him a high five on our way in. After lunch we headed home for a while and played inside until Dalton remembered that part of a good slumber party is getting donuts...so off we went to Krispy Kreme in the middle of the day for our doughnut! And then we realized how amazingly warm it was outside so we played and played outside with just mommy and Dalton while daddy graded papers (somebody has to work around here) and then later with some of our neighbor friends too!
